Out on the open road. Watch out, incoming '32 roadster with a determined looking Ali and Chris inside! The hills gave way to some big open road and the group started to make a bit of progress. Up in the hills it only took a truck to bring the journey to a snail's pace. The problem was that while a single car could easily get round a slow vehicle, all 12 hotrods had a bit of trouble. The heat and distance was starting to tire the drivers too, so it was nice to cover a couple of hundred K's on the big roads. Krysta had a nice little nap. That's her feet sticking out of the windows of the red Stude pickup. The two pictures of the red '55 Chevy pickup with the hills in the background pretty much sum up what the Euronats drive was like. The weather was great all the way through. There were hills, free open road and a string of hotrods. This is Americruise in Europe. Those two shots could have been taking in the foothills of California. Who'd have guessed it was much closer to home? Inevitably the open road led to the hills again and a long hard steep uphill stretch behind a HUGE truck took its toll on many of the cars. The 95 degree heat was just too much for the smallblocks and we had to pull over to cool down. See the bottom pic. |
