Less hills more people!

This was the third day driving in the hills so it was decided that we would head for the Peage roads ASAP and go for Spain. The mileage was beginning to take its toll on both the cars and the passengers and besides, the site in Spain was booked all week if we wanted it.

Some of the group had already buzzed ahead so they could get some time in the sun and we were feeling the same now. We took more stops this day so there are more piccies of people and less of rock and trees.

Another landlocked lake ran for a fair distance next to the road. The rock in the hills was changing and it was a much lighter colour. The water in that lake was brilliant blue and it was surrounded by white sand. Amazingly this was all up in the Alps on what is called the canyon.

Our stops were getting more interesting, one was next to a long field of lavender which appears to grow everwhere up there. There are farms which cultivate it. Oddly there was a stone dinosaur looming over the top of Carl's '33 Chevy sedan.

If you want to see what someone looks like after driving a T Bucket for 1250 miles then this is it. Steve Hudson was definitely feeling the strain!

There was an odd shiny spiky thing in the trees. Apparently that happens a lot in France.

Finally, this was that last fuel stop that we saw the group at before reaching Spain. We took a wrong turning and lost the group. This meant we had go buy a map and head through the Pyrenees alone to get to Spain.
